In January, Trent Berry and Gerard MacDonald will be delivering a session at the Sustainable Developments: District Energy, Green Certifications and Building for the Future workshop hosted by the Pacific Business & Law Institute (PBLI). While the event focuses on the pursuit of major sustainable and environmentally-friendly developments at large, Trent and Gerard will be discussing the evolution and interaction of building policies, codes and standards – an area filled with opportunity, but rife with conflict and confusion. Trent and Gerard will speak to trade-offs and pathways to successfully achieve low carbon outcomes, as well as the role of neighbourhood-scale energy solutions. Check out Gerard’s blog series on low carbon building codes for a primer on some key issues.
The event boasts excellent faculty hosting a variety of workshops on key topics such as risk management, financing, and construction. See the event brochure for more information.
